Ticking off #71


71) Get a full time job

So while I have been working away doing Thermomix, which is doing really well. It’s still not quite a replacement for my former full time job, so it was time to get back into the workforce.

I interviewed in quite a few different places, I even considered setting up my own recruitment business for awhile, but I decided I really didn't want to be in recruitment anymore. It was a great couple of years, but it’s a very high pressure environment that seems to be feeling the pinch right now with both companies I have worked for downsizing considerably since I joined the industry.

While I was trawling through Seek one day I noticed an ad from MeasureUp

Anyone who has followed my blogs since the early days might remember me mentioning Body Composition Australia, in fact some of you have had your own scans done. But for others it’s a company involved in DEXA scanning to accurately assess total body composition and give you a clear image of levels of fat, lean muscle, bone & bone density and more. (Check out a sample of what you end up with from a body composition scan here ) I loved what Jarrod offered and started having scans done in 2006. 

Fast forward to 2013 and instead of the one man I used to know at BCA, Jarrod has transformed the company into MeasureUp and now has somewhere around 20 staff on board with 8 mobile radiology units travelling all around the country providing bone density and body composition scans. Of course, knowing the product and how it excites me, I applied. And today I occupy one of the MeasureUp seats.

I am basically here to look after business development of the body composition side of the business, and I can't recommend it highly enough. So if you've never had a scan performed before, then get in touch with me.
